Promoting Understanding and Dialogue<\/h1>\n\n\n

A vibrant democracy is built on understanding and dialogue. That is why we support international projects at Kreisau that bring young people from across Europe together<\/strong>. We enable young people to learn from and with each other and support them in building bridges between different nations, religions and cultures. A particular focus is the promotion of active engagement with history<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through our work, we lay an essential foundation for shaping a peaceful and democratic future for Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

Current Funding: Model International Criminal Court<\/h2>\n\n\n

In the Model International Criminal Court (MICC), young people simulate trials held at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Through workshops and discussions, participants are introduced to key issues in human rights protection <\/strong>and fundamental concepts of justice<\/strong>. MICC is one of Kreisau’s longest-standing and most distinguished projects. It takes place multiple times a year across Europe and has already involved 10,500 young people from over 64 countries. Participants from the MICC School 2024 in Kreisau\/Krzy\u017cowa <\/a>share their experiences from the event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music for Future<\/h2>\n\n\n

This youth orchestra project brings together young people from Germany, Poland and Ukraine, and for the first time from Greece in 2025. The 60 young musicians spend a week practicing compositions from the participating countries together. The highlight will be concert performances in Krzy\u017cowa, Wroc\u0142aw and in the Peace Church in \u015awidnica. The project strengthens the sense of community<\/strong>, sends a clear signal for peace<\/strong> and supports the promotion of Ukrainian culture and youth<\/a><\/strong>. Our Flagship Project: Krzy\u017cowa-Music<\/h2>\n\n\n

The international chamber music festival Krzy\u017cowa-Music<\/a> <\/strong>brings together new musical talents with experienced musicians from around the world<\/strong> and organises annual concerts in Germany and Poland. Alongside its musical performances, the festival hosts symposia on cultural and socio-political topics and supports musicians affected by war through the initiative Musicians help Musicians<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krzy\u017cowa-Music was established in 2014 as a collaborative project between the Kreisau Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe<\/a>, the Kreisau Initiative e.V.<\/a>, and the Freya von Moltke Foundation for the New Kreisau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
