Beneficiary event and piano concert with Dr. Richard von Weizsäcker and Veronica Jochum von Moltke

Former German Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker talked about the Polish-German Neighbourhood and its meaning for a united Europe. The pianist Prof. Veronica Jochum von Moltke gave a piano concert for the benefit of the Freya von Moltke Foundation for the New Kreisau. The event took place in Hellerau, Dresden.

"Tu Was!" (Do Something!) – A commemorating evening

Do something! is a project initiated by Daniel Hope, a famous violinist. On November 9th, 2008 - 70 years after the Night of Broken Glas in Germany – the charity event took place in the former departure hall of Tempelhof Airport in Berlin. Various artists from different genres of music including Jazz and classical music but also artists from cabaret and literature contributed to this concert. Daniel Hope played degenerated music-work of Jewish composers in concentration camps - together with Sol Gabetta, Helénè Grimaud and Menahem Pressler. Klaus Maria Brandauer, famous actor and producer, read out of “Kristallnacht- a Prelude to Destruction”, Max Raabe presented music of the 1930s.

The Freya von Moltke Foundation was beneficiant of the revenues. You can find more information on the website of the event "Tu Was!".

Presentation of the art exhibition “Living in the Truth” in Lübeck

Prof. Veronica Jochum von Moltke, daughter of the conductor Eugen Jochum and sister-in-law of Helmuth James von Moltke, travelled from the US to Lübeck specifically to give this concert, one of various concerts all over the world in cooperation with leading orchestras and soloists. The last letters of Helmuth James von Moltke to his wife Freya and his sons Caspar and Konrad were read by Oliver von Below, the actor playing Helmuth James von Moltke in the play “A Journey to Kreisau” by Marc P. Smith.

Concert with Mitsuko Uchida in the Markus Church in Hannover

In honor of the 100th birthday of Helmuth James von Moltke, the famous and internationally known pianist Mitsuko Uchida from Japan gave a beneficiary concert together with other top-class musicians in the Markus-Church in Hannover, Germany in September 2007.

„Candide“ with Vicco von Bülow (alias Loriot) in the Staatstheater in Munich

On March the 27th „Candide“ a concertante recital of the Leonard Bernstein Musical was performed in the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich. The famous German comedian Vicco von Bülow alias Loriot composed and read the new inserted text. A part of the proceeds of this event benefited the Freya von Moltke Foundation for the New Kreisau.

Charity concert in the Berlin Allianz Tower with Daniel Stabrawa and Veronika Jochum von Moltke

In December 2005, Veronica Jochum von Moltke, famous US- pianist and sister-in-law of Helmuth James von Moltke, travelled to Berlin, Germany for a piano concert in cooperation with the concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Daniel Stabrawa. Among various guests, we were able to welcome Richard von Weizsäcker (former German President) and Professor Dr. Gesine Schwan (president of the Viadrina University of Frankfurt/Oder), both members of the Board of Trustees.

Charity concert of the Young Sound Forum of Central Europe

The international orchestra with young musicians from Poland, Czech Republic and Germany supported the young Freya von Moltke Foundation with a charity concert in the concert hall of the University of the Arts Berlin.
